Introduction & Background

Established in April 2018, Thai Agricultural Wholesale Market Association (TAWMA) is a non-profit association that aims to promote the essential role that wholesale markets play in ensuring the sustainable access, availability and distribution of a diverse variety of quality fresh food products, while maintaining competitive prices and the highest standards of service and food security, throughout Thailand.

Mission Statement

1) To represent Thai agriculture wholesale markets with World Unioun Wholesale Market (WUWM), government agencies, and relevant parties

2) To increase communication and establish cooperation between wholesale markets to collaboratively ensure supply sufficiency at fair price to stakeholders

3) To promote the wholesale market role in ensuring effectiveness in the food supply chain

4) To promote the quality and food safety of all the products produced to and distributed across member markets

5) To promote Thai agricultural wholesale markets in ASEAN region and international market

6) To exchange information, knowledge and expertise of wholesale markets so as to improve the design, construction, managing, and logistics for the overall benefit of the member markets

7) To support member markets in facing the ongoing challenges of modernisation and service provision
